Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic, innovative Occupational Therapist to join our school-based healthcare team in a full-time, permanent role. This position focuses on assessments, program development, collaboration with teachers and families, and ongoing advocacy for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a SLP, preferably in a school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and modify therapy plans as needed.
• Knowledge of current laws and regulations relating to occupational therapy in schools.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in using computer software and technology for record keeping and communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' abilities and needs, focusing on academic performance, social-emotional development, and physical health.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy programs for students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective OT interventions.
• Provide guidance and training to school staff and families on OT needs at school and home.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential records of students' diagnoses, treatments, and progress.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy and apply them to improve treatment strategies.
• Advocate for inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in school activities.
