Job summary

Buncombe County Schools is seeking a School Social Worker / Student Support Counselor to support students and families within the Student Services Department. Applicants must have a CSWE‑accredited degree or a master’s in school counseling, and NC licensure or the ability to obtain one within 3 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree: Bachelor of Social Work (CSWE accredited) or Master’s in School Counseling.
• Valid NC licensure: School Social Worker Educator or School Counselor; ability to obtain within 3 years.

• Promote and enhance the academic mission by strengthening home, school, and community partnerships.
• Address barriers to learning and support emotional and social development of students.
