Job summary

Livonia Public Schools is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to support student learning and communication across the district. The role focuses on assessment, intervention, and collaboration with teachers to implement evidence-based strategies.

The successful candidate will use data to monitor progress, partner with families, and contribute to MTSS planning while maintaining compliance with IEPs and Medicaid documentation requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology is required.
  • Michigan SLP license is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high learning for all students.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Use student data to inform instruction and progress monitoring.
  • Commitment to inclusive environment and diverse learners.
  • Experience with MTSS framework preferred.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion district mission, placing student learning at the center.
  • Create a safe, inclusive school environment where students feel supported.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Monitor learning through ongoing assessment and communicate progress to families.
  • Engage families as partners through clear communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement MTSS framework.
  • Integrate district and building goals into daily practices.
  • Use district tech tools to support teaching and communication.
  • Supervise students and ensure safety during the day.
  • Assist teachers in observing and referring speech-language concerns.
  • Evaluate students for speech and language impairments.
  • Draft and maintain IEPs and Medicaid documentation.
  • Progress monitor IEP goals and objectives.
  • Develop augmentative communication systems to access curriculum.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
