Job summary

Staff Today is seeking a School Speech Language Pathologist for a local contract in Anchorage, Alaska. The SLP will provide comprehensive services to students, assess needs, and develop individualized therapy plans to support educational goals.

The role requires AK licensure, CCC-ASHA, and at least 1 year of SLP experience, with 37.5 hours per week over 45 weeks, during daytime hours. Benefits include health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Communications Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current AK SLP licensure in good standing.
• CCC-ASHA certificate.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association).
• 1+ year experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Copy of required certifications and PSV (where applicable).
• Additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language therapy to support students’ communication and learning needs.
• Assess speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs and goals.
• Deliver therapy to improve communication, articulation, and social communication.
• Support students with communication challenges impacting academics.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document progress and maintain therapy records.
• Participate in evaluations, meetings, and IEPs.
• Provide classroom strategies to support communication skills.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide speech and language therapy services to support students’ communication and learning needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted AK license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• All SPED Teachers will need at least 2 years of SPED Teaching experience
• Master's degree or equivalent in Communications Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
• Current Speech Pathologist (SLP) licensure in applicable state
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (CCC-ASHA)
• American Heart Association BLS, for Heath Care Providers
• 1+ years’ experience as a Speech Pathologist (SLP)
• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents
