Job summary

Doyle Security Services, Inc. is seeking a School Security Patrol Officer to observe and report activities at an assigned client site, protecting students, staff and visitors, and maintaining a safe environment.

Mon-Fri 0600-1400; starting pay USD 19.50 per hour. Must hold NYS Security Guard License, be 18+, and able to de-escalate situations; weekends required. Previous school security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid NYS Security Guard License.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Must have exceptional Customer Service Skills.
• Must be able to verbally de-escalate situations.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and guests inside the school.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff and community members.
• Prior School experience preferred.
• Ensure safety and efficient reporting.
• Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
• Assist with fire drills, crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.
• Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
• Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.
• Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
• Update security records, logs, and reports.
• Ensure all doors and gates are locked and that all alarms are engaged at designated times.
• Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations that may arise on campus.
• Assist in daily operational duties as needed.
