Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Residency within Pittsburgh Public Schools district is required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps order in hallways, lavatories, auditorium, cafeteria, and recreation areas during lunch periods.
• Assists in preventing disturbances and improper behavior of students.
• Breaks up fights and other serious infractions of the school and criminal code.
• Notifies authorities in crises by dialing 911 or contacting security personnel.
• Recovers and secures evidence for police officers as needed.
• Inspects lavatories for security violations.
• Monitors and secures outside grounds.
• Cooperates with staff to manage visitor control.
• Checks in with principal on arrival and departure.
• Participates in security training.
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
