Beyond Learning Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive health services within our school program. The RN will act as a health advocate, coordinate care with families and staff, and ensure adherence to health policies.
The role requires current NYS RN licensure, at least one year of nursing experience, and proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records. This is a non-exempt, on-site position in the academic division.
$26.19 per hour - $30.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse provides health care to students ensuring the maintenance of optimal health standards for all students. The Registered Nurse serves as an advocate for health rights of students; consultant for health concerns of students; and promoter of sound health care practices within the school.
SUCCESSION PATH: Successful incumbents may be considered for advancement into Agency Clinical Nurse Coordinator position (or others based on interest) based on organizational need and readiness.

Planning & Organizing: Plans and organizes daily nursing activities, health screenings, medication schedules, documentation, and recordkeeping. Manages multiple priorities efficiently to meet student health needs and regulatory timelines.
Adaptability & Flexibility: Adjusts priorities and nursing interventions in response to changing student health needs, emergencies, staffing demands, or environmental conditions. Responds effectively to unexpected situations while maintaining quality of care and compliance.
Self-Management: Demonstrates professionalism, emotional regulation, and sound judgment in high-pressure or emergency situations. Manages workload, time, and stress effectively while maintaining ethical standards and clinical competence.

Safety Focus: Maintains a strong focus on student and staff safety. Ensures proper medication storage, infection control, universal precautions, SCIP procedures, and emergency response protocols are followed consistently.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in documentation, medication administration, recordkeeping, and reporting. Carefully monitors student health information, orders, permissions, and clinical data to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current NYS Registered Nurse License and Certification; Current CPR Certificate; One year of nursing experience, preferably in school setting or servicing children.
Must have or achieve certification within 3 months of hire in the following:
Applicants must be comfortable using computers and technology in a professional setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with the ability and willingness to learn and use organizational software systems and electronic documentation platforms.
