Job summary

Metropolitan Nashville Police Department currently seeks lateral Police Officers with two or more years of uninterrupted full-time law enforcement experience to join the School Resource Officer program in Nashville elementary schools. Qualifications

Two+ years as a full-time, certified law enforcement officer (Tennessee POST certification or equivalent).
Must possess a valid Driver License.

Must be at least 21 years old and pass medical/psychological exams and background checks.

Responsibilities

Complete a training program covering criminal law, firearms, first aid, traffic investigation, and report writing.
Specialized SRO training including Basic SRO Certification, D.A.R.E., public speaking, and youth crime prevention.
Work schedules include non-school months with potential after-hours overtime and community engagements.
