Job summary

City of Springtown is seeking a School Resource Officer to engage daily with Springtown ISD administrators, teachers, and students to provide educational information on law enforcement and ensure a safe learning environment.

Qualified applicants will hold a TLEOSE/School Resource Officer certification, a valid Texas driver’s license, and a GED or high school diploma. This role emphasizes community engagement and crime deterrence on campus.

Qualifications

• Basic TLEOSE Certification is required and the School Resource Officer certification class must be completed after accepting the position.
• High School diploma or GED, or practical law enforcement experience is required.
• Valid Class C Texas driver’s license and SRO certification from an approved training institute are required.

Responsibilities

• Protect school property, staff, and students as a police officer would.
• Investigate criminal acts on school property.
• Coordinate the school’s Crime Stoppers program and act as liaison with school and juvenile officials.
• Educate students and staff on law enforcement topics and campus safety.
• Interpret state and local statutes for staff and students and provide conflict resolution support.
