Job summary

Sylvania in the United States is seeking a School Psychologist to join our educational team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on supporting students' mental health, conducting psychological assessments, and providing counseling to promote academic success and emotional growth.

Collaborating with teachers, parents, and specialists, you will develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and apply evidence-based interventions in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
• Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
• Strong understanding of child development, psychological theories, and educational practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
• Experience in conducting assessments and implementing interventions in a school setting.
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social functioning.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists.
• Provide direct counseling services to students experiencing academic, social, or emotional difficulties.
• Consult with teachers and staff to develop strategies for managing classroom behavior and improving student outcomes.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies or traumatic events.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on mental health topics, behavioral strategies, and effective communication.
• Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effectiveness.
• Collaborate with community resources and agencies to provide additional support for students and families.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and student progress.
• Stay current with best practices in school psychology and participate in professional development opportunities.
