Job summary

Allied Instructional Services is seeking knowledgeable school psychologists to join our team of independent contractors for the 2026-2027 school year. We offer competitive compensation, flexibility, and strong support across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for Pupil Personnel Services license with endorsement in School Psychology.
• Master’s degree or NSPCB certificate required; 60 graduate hours.
• Knowledge of school psychology concepts, tests, learning theories and interventions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Willingness to travel; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological/psycho-educational evaluations for referred students.
• Provide academic and behavioral intervention services with teachers.
• Prepare comprehensive reports with practical recommendations for IEP/504 plans.
• Consult with teachers to determine appropriate interventions in classrooms.
• Participate in child study and eligibility meetings.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, students, administrators, and staff.
• Maintain accurate records of psychological services.
• Adhere to laws and policies protecting children's welfare.
• Work with crisis management team in schools; respond to illness, deaths and abuse.
• Provide individual and group counseling services.
• Develop and coordinate psychological services; train staff and parents.
• Serve as liaison between home, school, and community; coordinate resources.

We have multiple locations available for parttime, fulltime, remote, hybrid and in-person independent contractors.

The School Psychologist functions as a member of educational teams to provide comprehensive psychological (and potentially educational) evaluations of students referred for special education services. School Psychologists also provide counseling, consultation, and assistance with behavior plans based upon the needs of the school district. Candidates must possess a working knowledge of assessment and treatment practices, evidence-based research, recommended best practices, crisis intervention, and other expected roles and responsibilities of a school psychologist within a school environment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for a Pupil Personnel Services or Postgraduate Professional license with an endorsement in School Psychology. Completion of an approved program in school psychology to include at least 60 graduate hours that culminate in at least a master’s degree or hold a certificate issued by the National School Psychology Certification Board.
• Considerable knowledge of the concepts, principles and methodologies of school psychology including child growth and development, tests and measurement, and keeping abreast of the latest research.
• including: psycho-educational evaluations using educational, intelligence, personality, psycho-motor function, behavioral and personality instruments; of child growth and development and of learning, measurement, research, statistics and intervention and prevention strategies.
• Considerable knowledge of learning theories and cognitive psychology.
• Considerable knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines related to special education and pupil personnel services programs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability in individual and group decision making, problem analysis and conflict resolution, and the ability to collaborate with other therapeutic and instructional personnel.
• Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and be willing to travel. NOT APPLICABLE TO REMOTE PROVIDERS

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological or psycho-educational evaluations of referred students or students in need of reevaluation; to include observations, data collection, interpretation and analysis in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Provides academic and behavioral intervention services for students in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Prepares clearly written, comprehensive reports to address the referral concerns and provide practical recommendations that can be realistically implemented by school personnel and used to assist in the development of the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan.
• Consults with teachers to determine appropriate academic and behavioral interventions in classrooms.
• Participates in child study and eligibility meetings.
• Consults and collaborates with parents, teachers, students, administrators, and other staff as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate and careful records of all psychological services provided.
• Adheres to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies regarding children's educational welfare.
• Works with the crisis management team in the schools, including response to illness, deaths and abuse.
• Provides individual and group counseling services.
• Develops and coordinates various psychological services available to students and staff. Provides training to staff and parents.
• Serves as a liaison between home, school, and community. Coordinates community resources to address child and family needs.
• Demonstrates commitment to improving professional competence.
