Job summary

Responsibilities

• Utilize appropriate diagnostic practices to assess students' educational concerns.
• Consult with administrative and general education personnel in identification of students with academic and behavioral concerns.
• Review clinical files and conduct teacher and parent interviews as necessary.
• Select appropriate diagnostic instruments and compile results in a report for timely submission.
• Provide psychological information and recommendations for interventions and strategies for educational and behavioral needs.
• Attend eligibility conferences and act as liaison with district and community services.
• Deliver staff in-services on special education and legal issues.
• Stay current with developments by continuing education and attending meetings.

SALARY:

Competitive salary in accordance with the Professional Agreement. Additional stipend for School Psychologist

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Eligible for a valid certificate for a school psychologist from KSDE.
• EdS Degree

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Utilize appropriate diagnostic practices to assess students educational concern.
2. Assist and consult with administrative and general education personnel in the identification of students with academic and behavioral concerns.
3. Review clinical files information on students and conduct teacher and parent interviews as necessary.
4. Select appropriate diagnostic instruments, administer in the recommended manner. Compile results in a report and submit to the appropriate person(s) in a timely manner.
5. Consult with parents and school personnel, providing psychological test information and recommendations for interventions and strategies for educational and behavioral needs.
6. Attend eligibility conferences, providing multidisciplinary team members psychological information.
7. Attend conferences, act as a liaison, assist in the district with professional relationships with community services.
8. Provide staff ongoing in-services on special education and legal issues.
9. Keep abreast of new developments in the field by seeking appropriate continuing educational experiences and attending staff, professional and interagency meetings, and consuming and conducting research.
10. Act as a liaison between assigned district & Mental Health Facilities.
11. Coordinate and affirm that a comprehensive multidisciplinary, non-discriminatory evaluation.
12. Other duties as assigned.
