Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a School Psychologist to support students and families nationwide. The role requires NCSP or State School Psychologist license and involves counseling, IEP development, and collaboration with school staff to promote social and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Psychology.
  • Has obtained or is eligible for an endorsement as a School Psychologist as prescribed by the State Department of Education.
  • Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills and communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Has the ability to coordinate activities with professional staff, parents, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Participate in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.

  • Adhere to federal/state/local record-keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines, and safeguards.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all meetings and services.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing counseling services to students and their parents.
  • Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including participation in inter-disciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss the diagnosis and treatment of students.
  • Participating in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with and coach families and staff, during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings, to support social and emotional development.
  • Adhere to federal/state/local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines and procedural safeguards.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.
SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Psychology.
  • Has obtained or is eligible for an endorsement as a School Psychologist as prescribed in the bylaws of the State Department of Education.
  • Experience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
  • Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
