Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services is seeking a School Psychologist to support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.

Join our team to provide counseling, participate in MTSS, and contribute to IEP development while collaborating with families and staff. Licensure as a School Psychologist (NCSP or state) is required, with pediatric mental health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology required.
• NCSP or state School Psychologist license required.
• Experience or training in pediatric mental health preferred.
• Ability to work independently and maintain ethical standards.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate activities with staff, parents, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to students and parents.
• Participate in MTSS and interdisciplinary meetings to discuss diagnoses and treatment.
• Collaborate on initial and annual IEP development as appropriate.
• Support social and emotional development with families and staff.
• Adhere to record keeping, eligibility timelines, and safeguards.
• Maintain a schedule to ensure all meetings and services are met.

School Psychologist Responsibilities

• Providing counseling services to students and their parents.
• Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including participation in interdisciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss the diagnosis and treatment of students.
• Participating in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.
• Collaborate with and coach families and staff, during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings, to support social and emotional development.
• Adhere to federal/state/local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines and procedural safeguards.
• Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.

School Psychologist Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Psychology.
• Has obtained or is eligible for an endorsement as a School Psychologist as prescribed in the bylaws of the State Department of Education.
• Experience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
• Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
