Job summary

Campus Services Group (CSG) is seeking a School Porter to help keep the school clean and safe by performing daily janitorial tasks, working closely with staff and students to maintain high cleanliness standards.

Hours are Mon-Fri, 3-11pm, at 222 E 16th St, New York, NY 10003. The role includes event support, safety procedures, and responding to paging systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and stand 6-8 hours daily.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customers.
• Must provide a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial tasks in entryways, corridors, classrooms, cafeterias, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, floors, and commodes, replenishing lavatory supplies as needed.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and remove graffiti.
• Use cleaning solutions safely, adhering to all safety precautions.
• Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
• Assist with event support and respond to paging systems promptly.
• Follow infection control and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Ensure customer service and cleaning standards are consistently met.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customers.

• Must provide a criminal background check.
