VyTalent Solutions is seeking a local contract Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist for a school-based position in Hamlin, West Virginia. This part-time role involves 1-2 hours per week with a typical 8-hour shift schedule across the school year. Contract length: 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements include ACVREP COMS certification and WV credentials. Responsibilities include evaluations, instruction in safe travel, collaboration with teachers and families, and participation in IEP

Qualifications

• ACVREP Orientation & Mobility Certification (COMS) required.
• Valid West Virginia credentials required.
• School-based experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations to assess students' spatial awareness, travel skills, and environmental navigation.
• Provide direct instruction in safe, independent travel techniques across school, home, and community environments.
• Teach spatial orientation, cane skills, route planning, and environmental cues for visually impaired students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and TVIs to support safe navigation and access in educational settings.
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to functional travel goals, and maintain progress reports.
