Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks an Office Assistant for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled. The role involves data entry, filing, mail handling, and front-desk duties while maintaining confidentiality of student and staff information.

Responsibilities include managing forms and reimbursements, supporting staff with documentation, and utilizing MS Office tools. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required as specified by MSSD.

Qualifications

  • Type, using a computer keyboard, with competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Outlook).
  • Maintain moderately complex databases to provide service and accurate information for management.
  • Review documents and reports to ensure work product meets standards.
  • Assist staff with completing forms to provide service.
  • Complete expense and/or other financial forms to process reimbursement or payment requests.
  • File and copy correspondence and other records, maintaining an organized filing system.
  • Open, sort, process and distribute mail.
  • Answer telephone, take messages and route calls efficiently.
  • Greet and welcome visitors, determine nature of business and direct to appropriate person.
  • Order and inventory supplies.
  • Accurately complete required reports on or before deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, parent and staff information.
  • Participate in staff development to keep secretarial skills updated.
  • Must maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as specified by MSSD.
  • Utilize each student’s individual communication system.

Salary: $20,376 -$ 37,152

Please note: The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

What You’ll Do
  • Type, utilizing a computer keyboard, with computer competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Outlook).
