Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks an Elementary School Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Arlington WA area on a contract basis. The role is full-time with an elementary caseload, providing direct therapy and collaborating with IEP teams to support student success.

The ideal candidate holds an active WA OT license and a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, with strong communication skills to work with students, families, teachers, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active Washington Occupational Therapy license.
• School-based experience preferred; new graduates with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and IEP team members.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
• Collaborate with IEP teams to develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
• Provide direct OT services to students individually and in groups.
• Adapt classroom environments and materials to promote accessibility and participation.
• Document progress and treatment plans according to agency and school guidelines.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goals and accommodations.

We are currently seeking skilled Occupational Therapists to join our team on a contract basis and support schools.

Job Details:

• Full time
• Elementary caseload

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
• Collaborate with school staff and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams to develop individualized treatment plans and goals for students
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, addressing areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor coordination, and self-care
• Adapt classroom environments, equipment, and materials to promote accessibility and facilitate student participation
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, parents, and other professionals involved in the students' care
• Document student progress, treatment plans, and other relevant information according to agency and school guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate goals and accommodations for students
• Stay updated on current research, best practices, and relevant laws and regulations in school-based occupational therapy

Qualifications:

• Active Washington Occupational Therapy license
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Previous experience as a School Occupational Therapist is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and IEP team members
