The School Nutrition Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for The Oaks Academy's school nutrition program across three campuses, ensuring a high-quality, student-centered dining experience that supports student health, learning, and wellbeing.

Working closely with the Chief Operations Officer, Food Service Management Company, school leadership, teachers, and families, the Coordinator oversees compliance with Indiana Department of Education, USDA Child Nutrition Program requirements, and school wellness policies while driving continuous improvement in meal quality, student participation, operational performance, and nutrition education.

The Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the school and the Food Service Management Company, providing oversight of contract performance, regulatory compliance, financial accountability, meal quality, and program evaluation. This position also promotes integration of nutrition into the broader educational experience through collaboration with faculty, the Nature School Coordinator, and community partners to foster lifelong healthy eating habits and strengthen connections between food, health, and learning.

Founded in 1998, The Oaks Academy is a Christ-centered school that exists to provide a rich, classical education to children of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, preparing them to succeed in a rigorous secondary educational program and to demonstrate spiritual, social and emotional maturity. Currently on three campuses, serving over 1100 students, The Oaks Academy will continue to grow to serve more children.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Public Health Education, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in school nutrition, food service management, public health nutrition, or program administration
  • Working knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs, Indiana Department of Education requirements, food safety regulations, and school wellness policies
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, or food service operations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve problems, manage multiple priorities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, families, students, and community partners
  • Commitment to promoting student health, equity, and educational success through nutrition
Requirements
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with ability to travel between school campuses
  • Ability to be bonded
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, sound judgment, and confidentiality
  • Maintains good health, ethical conduct, and positive relationships consistent with The Oaks Academy's mission and values
