Franklin Independent School District is seeking a School Nutrition Specialist to prepare and serve meals consistent with menu requirements. This 10-month, hourly position requires you to maintain safety and quality in food production, sanitation, and operations.

Responsibilities include portion control, storage handling, and accurate cashier and record-keeping tasks while collaborating with staff to support student nutrition programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Able to follow recipes and safety instructions.
• Able to read and comprehend short notes and recipes.

• Prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements.
• Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation and safety.
• Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested recipes.
• Serve food according to meal schedules and policies.
• Promote portion control and proper use of leftovers.
• Supervise storage and handling of food items and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage/work area.
• Operate kitchen tools and equipment according to safety standards.
• Record daily food preparations and assist with requisitions.
