Job summary

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Preferred: vocational/technical training for food service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assignments and productivity of kitchen staff in the manager's absence.
• Ensure food production follows the detailed work schedule and approved menus.
• Prepare detailed work schedules based on menus and procedures.
• Provide and ensure efficient customer service to all customers.
• Monitor food temperatures.
• Train SNP Assistants to operate institutional kitchen equipment.
• Communicate between SNP staff, site administration, staff and parents.
• Ensure HACCP SOPs for receiving, storing, labeling, and temperature records.
• Complete Training in Depth (TID) courses as required by DOE and SNP.
• Perform all duties of kitchen staff as needed.
• Monitor point-of-sale operators during breakfast and lunch.
• Prepare daily bank deposits and deliver to the Manager.
• Assist with inventory and weighing/measuring of menu items.
• Document production errors and staff issues for management review.
• Attend at least one faculty meeting and PTA meeting per year.
• Assist with nutrition education presentations.
• Assist with special projects and organization needs.
