Job summary

MSD Decatur Township is seeking individuals for Part-Time Child Nutrition Associate roles, Substitute Child Nutrition Associate, and On-Call Catering Assistant to support school meal programs. The positions offer school-aligned hours, with opportunities across multiple locations and on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include serving meals, processing payments, inventory, and maintaining sanitary kitchen areas. A high school diploma and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Approved background check.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with students, parents, school administrators, staff, and public/private agencies.
• Access to reliable transportation during working hours.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to take direction from Leadership and work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Foodservice experience preferred but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Arrange food and beverages in a serving line for efficient service to students and staff.
• Collect payments for food items (cash, ID scan) to complete transactions.
• Inventory food, condiments, and supplies to meet menu requirements.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in preparation and serving areas.
• Maintain stockroom by ordering and organizing supplies.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages to meet nutritional and meal requirements.
• Cross-train as a cashier to ensure accurate records and policy compliance.
• Report equipment issues to the Manager.
• Support student workers to ensure a safe, efficient work environment.
• Perform basic math calculations (percentages, ratios).
• All other duties as assigned by Leadership Team.
