Job summary

ABINGDON HIGH SCHOOL in Abingdon, Virginia is seeking a part-time School Nutrition Assistant to support daily meals in the school cafeteria. You will assist in food production, preparation, sanitation, serving, and cleaning under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Specialist, with opportunities to learn POS operations.

The role requires the ability to lift 35 pounds and reach above shoulder height; training will cover Child Nutrition certification and POS use.

Part-time School Nutrition Assistant - Abingdon High School

QUALIFICATIONS:

Assists the Child Nutrition Specialist in all areas of food production, preparation, sanitation, serving, and cleaning in the school cafeteria facility and all other duties as assigned. Needs to be able to lift 35 pounds and lift and reach above their head. Willing to become certified in Child Nutrition and to learn to operate the (POS) Point of Sale Terminal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Effective Date: 2026-2027 School year

Schedule: Part-time

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
