Qualifications

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Follows lesson plans to teach health classes as scheduled.
• Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns.
• Documents all student encounters in the Electronic Health Record.

Substitute Nurses – The Haddonfield School District is in immediate need of substitute school nurses to staff our health office when the school nurse is absent and to go on field trips to provide care for children with health needs.

Rate

$235.00/DAY (This position does not qualify for health benefits)

Qualifications

• Must have a NJ RN License, NJ standard School Nurse Certificate or a County Substitute School Nurse Certificate.
• Hold current New Jersey State license as a Registered Nurse
• Hold NJ Standard School Nurse Certificate or a County Substitute School Nurse Certificate
• Hold current CPR/AED certification
• Knowledge of current practices for common childhood illnesses and chronic diseases: asthma management, diabetes, insulin pen and pumps, seizure management
• Ability to teach health in the classroom
• Computer skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment; excellent communication/organizational skills

Responsibilities

1. Administers care to students and staff based on current Standing Orders, in school and on field trips.
2. Administers medications and treatments as ordered, in school and on field trips.
3. Follows lesson plans to teach health classes as scheduled.
4. Follows communicable disease control procedures.
5. Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns.
6. Documents all student encounters in the Electronic Health Record.
7. Completes other paperwork as required by the BOE.
8. Maintains confidentiality of information and records.
9. Performs other assigned tasks as required by administration and school nurse.
