Job Title: School Nurse Substitute (Pool)
Qualifications: Each School Nurse Substitute must hold a current, unrestricted license issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing to practice as a professional registered nurse (RN) or as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). A licensed practical nurse must work under the supervision of a professional registered nurse in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Job Goal: Provide temporary nursing coverage, as needed, to support the health and safety of students and staff. Administer medical assistance and first aid in accordance with district procedures, individual healthcare plans, physician orders, and applicable laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and refer students and guardians to appropriate community agencies or healthcare professionals when necessary.

Performance Responsibilities:
Terms of Employment: This is an as-needed substitute pool position. Work assignments, locations, and schedules will vary based on district needs. Placement in the substitute pool does not guarantee a minimum number of assignments or work hours. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy and district procedures.
