Responsibilities

• Assist in developing the school health program.
• Participate in health curriculum committee work.
• Conduct immunization programs, physicals, and vision/hearing tests.
• Regularly observe students to identify health needs.
• Instruct teachers on screening for health needs.
• Maintain up-to-date student health records.
• Report health matters to parents, staff, physicians, and clinics.
• Provide care during emergencies and administer first aid.
• Visit student homes when necessary.
• Lift or move students (up to 90 pounds) as needed.
• Ensure sanitary standards in schools.

Education

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license

LPN certification required

Graduate of an accredited nursing program
