Job summary

Moses Lake School District 161 is seeking a qualified School Nurse to join the Special Services team in Moses Lake, WA. The role focuses on direct student health care, case management, and collaboration with families and the school community to support academic success and safety.

Responsibilities include health assessments, referrals, care planning (IEPs/IHPs as applicable), and coordination with medical homes.

Qualifications

WA State RN license verified and unencumbered.
BSN from an accredited program.
ESA Certification - School Nurse (WA).
Completion of school nurse induction program.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, students and agencies as needed.
Valid WA Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Assesses and provides for the physical and emotional health needs of students during the school day and school-sponsored activities.
Assesses the health of students as related to the educational process.
Initiates referrals for diagnosis and treatment of identified health needs and provides follow up.
Communicates health concerns which may impact learning to appropriate school staff.
Uses student-centered, evidence-based practice to inform student care.
Advocates for individual students to empower self-management and learning.
