Job summary

First Day Homecare® is seeking a registered nurse to provide skilled pediatric private duty nursing services. The role will support a school-aged child with care plans, medications, and monitoring under medical orders, ensuring compliance with Nurse Practice Act and agency policies.

The position requires an active RN license in the state, CPR certification, and strong communication skills. The shift runs from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm; compensation includes flexible scheduling and paid benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insurance in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Delivers care per physician orders and client care plan.
• Maintains orders and documents changes in the medical record per agency procedures.
• Performs pediatric nursing tasks including tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings as needed.
• Collaborates with the client's care team and promotes safety for clients and coworkers.
• Adheres to agency policies, procedures and standards, and participates in care coordination.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.


• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.


• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.


• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.


• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.


• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.


• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.


• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.


• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
