Devereux Day Academy in Audubon, PA is seeking a Part-Time School Nurse (RN) to administer medications and provide first aid for students with special needs. You will apply the nursing process and deliver care in a school setting, working Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm, with compensation of $40.00-$45.60 per hour based on experience.

Licensed RN in PA preferred; BSN preferred. Prior clinical experience in behavioral health or school settings is preferred.

As a Part Time School Nurse (RN) at the Devereux Day School located in Audubon, PA you will be responsible for the medication administration and general first aid for the students in the school.

Also, you will demonstrate an understanding of the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting for students with special needs and medical challenges.

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Hours: 10:00am-2:00pm

Compensation: $40.00-$45.60/hr [Based on Experience]

Every day as a School Nurse (RN) you will...

Devereux Day Academy is a private academic school program located in Audubon PA [2650 Eisenhower Ave].

Devereux Day Academy is licensed to serve students in grades 4th-12th who have been identified with the following primary emotional, behavioral and social challenges.

The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of our partner school districts.

This alignment will facilitate smooth transitions to and from the program for your students.

The goal of the curriculum is to provide students with learning experiences that foster increased engagement and success through differentiated instruction, evidence-based instructional strategies, and rigorous learning expectations

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pennsylvania preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Previous clinical experience in a behavioral healthcare setting and/or school setting strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques. Proficient use of computers and office equipment.

Valid driver's license must be maintained.
