Job summary

Advocate Health Navicent School Nursing Program in Georgia is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct care to students, manage medications, and promote a healthy school environment. You will coordinate with families and physicians and document in the EMR as required.

The role requires an active LPN license in Georgia and BLS certification. Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours/week; some variation by school assignment. Prior school health experience is not required.

Qualifications

  • Valid, active LPN license in the state where you practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • BLS certification.
  • Experience: none required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to students who are ill or injured.
  • Screen and refer for health care conditions when needed.
  • Administer medications and manage chronic illnesses.
  • Promote a healthy and safe school environment.
  • Act as liaison between school, family and physician.
  • Audit immunization records and student health forms.
  • Document in the EMR per school system.
  • Educate staff on student health issues and treatments.

Major Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to those ill or injured
  • Screening and referral if needed for health care conditions
  • Medication administration, chronic illness management
  • Assist in promoting healthy, safe environment
  • Act as liaison between school, family and physician
  • Audit immunization records and student health forms
  • Document in the EMR per school system
  • Educate Staff on student on health related issues and treatments as needed
  • Complete online continuing education and attend meetings as requested
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
