Job summary

EDU-AIDs is seeking a Registered School Nurse for on-site, 1:1 medical support at a Quitman, GA school. You will provide direct nursing care for a student with a tracheostomy and enteral feeding, implement the health plan, and coordinate with family and staff to ensure continuity of care during school hours.

The role requires current RN license in Georgia, BLS certification, and experience with tracheostomy and enteral feeding in pediatric/school settings.

Qualifications

• BLS required; PALS or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate health records, logs and incident reports.
• Train school staff and caregivers on health procedures and emergencies.

Registered School Nurse

Position: Registered School Nurse - 1:1 medical support

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: End of School Year

Location: On-site, Quitman GA

Assignment: One-to-one support for a student with a tracheostomy and feeding tube

Role Summary

Provide dedicated, on-site nursing care and health monitoring for a student requiring tracheostomy and enteral feeding support. Ensure medical safety, implement the student's health plan, and collaborate with school staff and family to maintain continuity of care during the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care including tracheostomy suctioning, trach care, and management of feeding tube (G-tube/NG) procedures.


• Administer medications and tube feedings per physician orders and the student's Individualized Health Plan.


• Monitor respiratory status, vital signs, and overall health; respond to medical emergencies and implement emergency protocols.


• Maintain accurate, confidential health records, daily logs, and incident reports.


• Train and consult with school staff and caregivers on health procedures, emergency response, and safe handling.


• Attend IEP and health plan meetings as required and communicate regularly with family and healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.


• Experience: Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy care and enteral feeding management in pediatric or school settings preferred.


• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent preferred


• Strong documentation, communication, and crisis-management skills.


• Ability to pass background checks and meet district onboarding requirements.

Schedule and Compensation

• Schedule: Full-time or part-time as required to provide consistent 1:1 coverage during the school day; schedule aligned with district calendar.
