Job summary

Sheppard Pratt invites applications for a school-based mental health clinician within Prince George’s County Public Schools. You will deliver individual, family, and group counseling to students and their families, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with schools and community services to remove barriers to care.

A strong collaboration with families and school staff is essential. Must hold an LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC or LCPC license in Maryland; the role offers comprehensive benefits, tuition

Qualifications

  • Must possess one of the Maryland licenses at time of hire: LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC or LCPC.
  • Full-time position with salary range specified; pay determined by license, experience and related factors.
  • Prior experience in school-based mental health is preferred but not required.

Job description

The Youth First Care Program is a school-based program that embeds mental health therapists into Prince George’s County Schools. Because our team works within the schools and services are free of charge to our clients, we can address many of the common barriers to therapy such as transportation and cost.

What to expect.

You will provide clinical mental health support to students and their families within Prince George’s County Public Schools.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conducting individual, family, and group counseling sessions to address personal and environmental obstacles.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans.
  • Collaborating with the school system and supporting families in accessing relevant community resources, while coordinating with local social service agencies when necessary.

What we need from you.

Must possess one of the following Maryland licenses at time of hire:

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C)
  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

The full-time pay range for this position is $60,320 minimum to $87,838.40 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, license and years and level of related experience.
