Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is hiring a Food Services Driver (BC-03) to support school meal service across sites in Hawaii. You will coordinate with food service staff, deliver prepared meals, verify portions and temperatures, and help with the setup of serving counters for students and staff.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid Hawaii driver’s license, and the ability to read, write and understand English.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand oral and written English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and works with other food service employees to ensure timely meal service.
• Assists in preparing school meals and may help with dietary needs.
• Operates a food service vehicle to transport meals and related items.
• Verifies servings and temperatures, and documents daily records.
• Sets up serving counters, serves students and staff, and replenishes items.
• Cleans pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen/work areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Receives provisions, stores goods, and maintains inventory records.
• May supervise student helpers in the kitchen or during delivery.
• Performs minor maintenance on food service vehicle to ensure safe operation.
• Attends staff meetings and training hours required by USDA.
