Job summary

Texas School for the Deaf Health Center in Austin, Texas is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (Mon - Fri; 8:00am - 4:00pm) to provide comprehensive nursing care for students. Immediate starting date with a 40-hour workweek and a $4,326 monthly salary.

The role includes medication administration, health assessments, record-keeping, and direct student health services. A recruitment bonus of $1,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas.
• Sign Language: The SLPI proficiency level required is INTERMEDIATE; if lower, you must participate in learning opportunities until the level is achieved.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication by various routes as appropriate.
• Monitors treatment progress and conducts screenings.
• Takes vitals and conducts screening tests.
• Assesses illnesses/injuries and provides nursing interventions.
• Maintains and reviews client records and medication documentation.
• Communicates health information to parents.
• Instructs and counsels students on health care needs.
• Arranges for nursing supplies and equipment.
