Job summary

Murfreesboro City Schools is seeking a Part-Time Nutrition Monitor in the Department of Nutrition. You will supervise students during meals, assist with service, and contribute to a clean, safe dining environment.

The role requires a neat appearance, strong safety awareness, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to undergo background checks and exams. This position serves on days when school meals are served and offers hourly pay with no benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be neat in appearance, follow safety rules, maintain confidentiality, and work cooperatively.
• Must pass post-offer physical exam, PAT, and fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

• Answer student questions about menu items and food choices.
• Assist children with forgotten items (forks, napkins, drinks, etc.).
• Assist students with opening food/beverage containers.
• Help manage flow of students to maintain efficiency and food safety.
• Perform standing/walking during shift.
• Encourage students to try menu items and participate in the lunch program.
• Maintain cleanliness during and after meal service.
• Follow SOPs.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Support the School Nutrition Program with related tasks.
• Understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Understand and prepare recipes.
• Demonstrate good mathematical skills.
