Job summary

Payette School District is seeking a responsible Food Service Cook/Server to support daily meal operations for students. The role involves food preparation, serving, sanitation, and kitchen operations to ensure health and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include following menus and USDA guidelines, operating kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and providing courteous service. The position is full-time, with schedule as determined by district needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices or willingness to be trained.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch meals in accordance with district menus and USDA guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, warmers, dishwashers, slicers, etc.).
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, serving lines, and dining areas.
• Wash dishes, trays, utensils, and food preparation equipment.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature procedures.
• Stock and organize food, supplies, and deliveries.
• Accurately portion and serve meals to students and staff.
• Provide courteous and respectful customer service to students and staff.
• Assist with inventory and notify the supervisor of needed supplies.
• Follow all district, state, and federal nutrition program requirements.
• Identify and report safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
• Support special events or alternative meal service needs as assigned.
