Job summary

Spring ISD is seeking a CN Food Preparation Specialist for the 2026-27 school year in Houston, TX. The role involves preparing and serving high-quality, safe meals to students and staff with strong customer service. Must meet food safety standards and handle various kitchen tasks in a non-exempt position.

Starting immediately, 180 days per year, salary $15.25 per hour based on the 2025-2026 scale. Reports to Child Nutrition Manager and Area Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Certified by the Child Nutrition Department in safety and sanitation.
• 1 year Food Service experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food following standardized recipes.
• Maintain safety and sanitation procedures.
• Prepare a variety of foods including entrees, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.
• Provide customer service during meal times and assist serving lines.
• Operate a cash register and handle transactions as needed.
