Job summary

Whitsons is hiring a School Food Service Worker to join our nutrition team in Lemont. The role involves serving healthy meals to students and staff, setting up stations, and upholding strict food safety standards. The schedule is Monday–Friday with no nights or weekends, offering family-friendly hours and a supportive team environment.

Training and ServSafe certification are encouraged. Pay rate is $15/hour with opportunities for growth in a collaborative school community.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Whitsons and government-mandated training as required.
• Minimum 1 year of professional food service experience preferred but not required.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to speak and read English sufficient to understand and perform job assignments, follow recipes, and comply with safety requirements.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prep, portion, and serve meals to students and staff.
• Set up and clean serving stations and kitchen areas.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
