Job summary

Amergis is seeking a School LPN/LVN to identify and treat health disorders among students in the school setting. You will monitor students’ conditions and refer to resources as needed, following LPN/LVN scope of practice and state education codes.

The role requires a current state nursing license, preferred pediatric experience, and knowledge of school health services regulations. Benefits include competitive pay, health insurance, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Current nursing license for the state in which the nurse practices.
• One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment.

• Knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services.
• Understands the school organization and the community served.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Job description

The School LPN/LVN identifies and treats health disorders among students in the school setting. The School LPN/LVN provides instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. The School LPN/LVN monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school setting and refer the student to appropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN is performed in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to state education codes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current nursing license for the state in which the nurse practices
