Job summary

Utica City School District seeks a Librarian to develop and administer an integrated school library media program. You will instruct students and staff in information literacy, select and procure print and digital resources, and lead the integration of technology with classroom instruction.

The role requires a NYS library media certification path (Master’s or eligible Bachelor’s with practicum) and collaboration across curriculum areas to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university leading to NYS certification as a library media specialist.
• OR Bachelor’s degree with practicum in school library media and relevant teaching or library experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer an integrated school library media program.
• Instruct students and staff in information literacy and technology use.
• Evaluate, procure print and digital resources and equipment.
• Develop procedures for efficient library operations and services.
• Provide leadership for integrating technology with instruction.
• Collaborate with staff to align library resources with curriculum.
• Instruct staff on using new information technologies and resources.
