Job summary

Washington School Counselor Association is seeking a School Librarian for the 27/28 SY. The role requires a WA Teaching Certificate with a K-12 Library Resource Endorsement and proven experience as an instructor or specialist serving appropriate grade levels, plus a genuine desire to work with all students.

The position reports to the Principal and emphasizes instructional support, collaboration, and student well‑being.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS include: Current WA Teaching Certificate with a K-12 Library Resource Endorsement.
Evidence of successful experience as instructor or specialist with students at appropriate grade level.
Genuine desire to work with all students.

Responsibilities

Administers subject-specific assessments and district/state tests to assess competency and plan learning.
Advises parents/guardians on student progress and strategies for improvement.
Analyzes test data to improve student achievement and instruction.
Assesses student progress and provides feedback to students, parents, and staff.
Collaborates with PLCs, staff, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
Counsels students to support performance, health, and personal development.
Differentiates classroom work to address individual learning needs.
Directs para professionals and student workers to support classroom programs.
Facilitates learning by creating an engaging environment and integrating resources.
