Flik Independent School Dining is seeking a Sous Chef to support culinary operations in a dynamic K–12 school dining program. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will assist with daily production, menu development, catering, inventory management, and supervision of hourly kitchen staff.

This role requires passion for scratch cooking, creativity, and high standards in food quality and presentation, with a path toward leadership in a fast-paced school environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in dynamic culinary/kitchen management in high-volume settings.
• Knowledge of scratch cooking, batch production, and food cost controls.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and supervision.
• Support inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction.
• Develop menus aligning with culinary standards and nutrition guidelines.
• Lead catering events and ensure high quality food, presentation, and service.
• Implement new culinary programs with the team.
• Ensure HACCP and allergy protocols are followed.
