Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2026-27 school year to support the school health program as a substitute hourly employee. The RN will develop health objectives, advise administration, and maintain essential health records and reports.

Preferred skills include nursing theory, pharmacology knowledge, staff supervision, ASL competency, and ability to train health center staff.

Qualifications

• Current, active license to practice as Professional Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri.
• Two years of experience in health care setting.
• One year of supervisory experience in health care setting.
• Transcripts must be submitted with the application if a college degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development and revision of objectives and standards for the school health program.
• Serves as a health consultant to administration, parents, teachers and students on health matters.
• Maintains records and reports necessary for the school health program.
• Plans equipment and materials for health program activities.
• Provides health counseling and guidance to students on referrals.
