Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools in Austin, TX seeks a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse to provide direct student healthcare services across campuses under the Director of School Health Services.

You will manage first aid, medications, chronic condition care, and collaborate with school leaders, families, and physicians to keep students healthy and ready to learn throughout the school day.

Requires CPR/First Aid certification and a Texas license; experience in school health is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited RN or LVN program.
• Active Texas RN or LVN license.
• Experience in pediatric care and school health settings preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and confidentiality.
• Ability to triage in emergencies and follow physician orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for first aid, urgent and emergent care to students, staff, and visitors.
• Able to provide care in a high paced environment serving multiple campuses.
• Administer medications per physician orders and policies.
• Document illnesses, injuries, medications, and interactions in the student information system.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and physicians on student health needs.
