Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support basic student health care under the direction of the school RN. The role involves collaborating with parents, children, and staff to address health and dental needs and ensure compliance with health policies.

Responsibilities include health screenings, immunization tracking, record-keeping, and coordinating care plans with nurses and nutrition staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year or more of relevant experience; pediatric experience preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain one per district rules.
• Ability to travel to sites across the district and work in a multi-ethnic environment.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides support for basic student care meeting program guidelines and standards.
• Ensure health and dental needs are addressed with parents, children and staff.
• Conduct health screenings and gather immunization information per guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and utilize district databases for monthly/annual reports.
• Collaborate on Health Care Action Plans and coordinate care for students.
