Job summary

New Castle Community School Corporation is seeking a Health Assistant - Float/Substitute to provide health office support and student care coverage across district buildings on an as-needed basis.

The role includes basic first aid, administering medications, and coordinating with school staff, students, and families to maintain a safe and healthy school environment. Travel between buildings may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Medical certification preferred
• Experience working with children or in a healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency care to students
• Implement state-mandated screening programs
• Review and evaluate immunization records
• Administer medications in accordance with corporation policy and procedures
• Maintain communication and documentation pertinent to the nursing office
• Assist with the development and implementation of student health care plans
• Support health promotion for students, staff, parents, and the community
• Maintain complete confidentiality regarding student and staff information
• Demonstrate dependable attendance to meet the health needs of students
• Travel between school buildings as needed to provide coverage and support
• Complete any other duties assigned by the Building Principal or Corporation Nurse
