Job summary

Wilson School District No 7 is seeking a School Health Assistant to maintain a safe and organized health office for students and staff in an elementary school setting. The role involves basic nursing support under the supervision of the school CNA and adherence to district policies.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with opportunities to obtain First Aid, AED, CPR, and fingerprint clearance. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred to serve our diverse community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to obtain First Aid, AED and CPR certification within 30 days.
• Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications under the direct supervision of the school CNA and in accordance with District policies and State laws.
• Administers and assists with basic first aid following injury assessments.
• Performs clerical duties: inputting data, running reports, making copies, creating labels, filing medical records.
• Cleans and sanitizes health center to minimize illness.
• Calls parents to notify or inquire about student illnesses.
• Assists in mandated vision and hearing screenings.
• Provides emergency data to rescue and medical personnel as required.
• Maintains health center inventory and related records.
