Job summary

Roswell Independent School District's Student Nutrition department seeks a Food Services Worker (8-hour contract) to support lunch service across RISD sites in Roswell, NM. Duties include serving, cooking, cleaning, cashiering, and ensuring meals meet federal guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred), a current Food Handler Certificate, and a valid driver’s license for site-to-site coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Current Driver’s license and car insurance if traveling between sites.
• Current Food Handler Certificate (within 30 days) and maintain it.
• School food preparation experience preferred.
• Basic computer and technology skills.
• Ability to follow Federal guidelines for meals.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and handle cashier duties as assigned.
• Maintain clean work areas and proper sanitation.
• Receive groceries and supplies and verify deliveries.
• Operate POS system and collect payments as needed.
• Supervise student helpers when present.
• Maintain temperature logs and HACCP compliance.
• Work with school staff to ensure a safe, inviting lunch environment.
• Report to work on time and travel between RISD sites as needed.
