Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Maintain good health and physical condition.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food to maintain nutritive value and produce an attractive, good tasting product.
• Uses standardized recipes, production records, thermometers, and scales to insure that quantities are prepared and served safely and in accordance with meal pattern portions.
• Follows safety and sanitation procedures as specified by the manager.
• Uses and maintains equipment safely and efficiently.
• Completes work assignments as scheduled by the manager including food preparation, serving line setup, serving students, food storage, and regular cleaning assignments.
• Assists manager in carrying out the standards of the state and federal regulations, and policies of the school board.
• Serves in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and team cooperation during routine daily tasks.
• Recognizes meal pattern portions and conducts meal count procedures when needed.
• Works with calculator and computer needs.
• Participates in training activities and relates training to personal health and job responsibilities.
• Demonstrates knowledge that nutrition has a direct relationship to the growth and development of children.
• Reports low inventory, need for utensils, and problems with equipment to the manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
