Job summary

Upper Moreland Township School District seeks a Head Custodian to manage daily custodial operations across the facilities, ensuring security and cleanliness, and coordinating with staff and the Custodial & Warehouse Supervisor.

The role is full-time, 8 hours per day, 12 months, with starting hourly rate of $25.38. Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least two years custodial experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of custodial and/or light maintenance experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written).
• Ability to ambulate a ladder to roof level.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold).
• Ability to report to work in inclement weather.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crawl for 8 hours per day.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Must perform basic computer tasks (email, web, keyboarding).
• Must pass federal/state background checks and comply with school policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily custodial assignments to ensure areas are maintained and secure.
• Reviews principal assignment requests and ensures timely completion.
• Monitors building usage logs and ensures access for activities.
• Ensures areas are cleaned and secured at end of activities.
• Maintains daily safety and security; reports needs to appropriate supervisor.
• Inventories and maintains custodial supplies.
• Assists in moving furniture and equipment as needed.
• Responds to emergency needs including snow removal and cleanup.
• Performs duties as assigned by Facilities leadership.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Two years custodial/maintenance experience
